Behold, the Days Are Coming
Mar 17, 2024 • The Rev. William Stokes
Jeremiah wrote from the lowest point in Israel's history, and his refrain, behold, the days are coming, usually announces ruin. In the Book of Comfort it announces a new covenant, and closing a Lenten series on the biblical covenants, the sermon asks what makes it new: not new parties, an inward law or its goals, but the forgiveness of sins. A dying trucker visibly freed by the Comfortable Words shows that forgiveness at work.
