"Choose This Day Whom You Will Serve"

Nov 12, 2023    Rev. Charlie Holt

In this bold and heartfelt message, Reverend Holt leads the congregation through Joshua’s final charge to the Israelites—a call to recommit their hearts to the Lord in full covenant faithfulness. Drawing from Joshua 24, Holt frames the moment as a “gut check” for God’s people, a time to assess their spiritual allegiance and renew their vow of obedience and devotion.

With the Israelites having entered the Promised Land after generations of divine guidance and deliverance, Joshua gathers the people to remember their story—from Abraham’s calling to the Exodus and conquest of Canaan. Reverend Holt parallels this historical reflection with the American story, evoking Veterans Day to highlight the importance of remembering where we've come from and the sacrifices made to secure present blessings.
